Premises Recruitment

Social value

Investing in people, our industry and our community

As an independent, family owned business based in Loughton since 2001, we believe a recruitment business should give back to the industry and the community it works in. Here is what that means for us in practice.

3 apprentices taken on from our local area
2 people helped into work through the Kickstart scheme
1 to 2 school work experience placements every year
2 marathons run for the British Heart Foundation

Opening doors

Bringing new people into construction

Construction needs a steady flow of new talent, and we play our part in helping people take their first steps into the industry, or back into work.

  • Local apprenticeships. We have taken on three apprentices from our local area, giving them a start in their careers with on the job training and support.
  • The Kickstart scheme. Through the government's Kickstart scheme we helped two people into work during the recovery from the pandemic.
  • Work experience. Every year we welcome one or two school students for a week of work experience, giving them a real insight into the industry.
  • Careers advice in schools. We talk to young people about the wide range of careers in construction, including careers talks at local schools.

Fair and inclusive recruitment

Opening up opportunity for everyone

We believe great careers in construction should be open to everyone. Our director Abbey is a passionate supporter of women in construction, and we work with clients to build diverse, balanced shortlists.

Every candidate is treated fairly and with respect, and we are committed to eliminating modern slavery and protecting the personal data entrusted to us.

Our community

Supporting the causes close to us

Our team gives its time and energy to good causes, both locally and nationally.

  • Haven House Children's Hospice. We support Haven House in Woodford Green, our local children's hospice, and Abbey has also run a marathon to raise funds for them.
  • British Heart Foundation. Our director Abbey has run the marathon twice to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
  • Giving our time. From volunteering at a local soup kitchen at Christmas to supporting local schools, we look for practical ways to help.
  • Local suppliers. Wherever we can, we use local businesses, including our IT support provider.

Working responsibly

A lighter footprint

Environmental responsibility matters to us. Our director Rob holds a degree in environmental science, and we look for sensible ways to reduce our impact as a business.

  • Hybrid working. Our team works from home two days a week, cutting commuting and travel.
  • A paperless office. We run our business digitally, from candidate records to client paperwork.
